Some invaluable advices...........
.............for an optimal use of our seats


What has to be regarding solid wood...
 
Solid wood retains shades and reflections given by nature. (streak, woods thread, stitch, small knots, resin marks…). This is what endow each chair it's natural beauty, charm and "personality".
 
What is prohibited...
 
Using solvent, acetones, products containing silicone or other caustic products.

Sitting on the back legs of a chair.

Using seats, particularly caned seats as a stepladder.

Pull or cut the twigs of cane. Just stick them with vinyl glue.

 
What is recommended...
 
Remove dust from wooden parts with a duster or a smooth brush, and the seating with a vacuum cleaner.

In case of resisting stains on the wood, use a dampen sponge with soapy water, then dry immediatly with the grain of wood.

Use every chairs in turn to get a regular wearing of the seat.

Maintain caned seats with wax and humidify regularly the canwork underneath with a sponge or a spray to prevent from snap.

Entrust stained seats to the cleaning specialist's care (recessed seat or screwed seat).

Fit gliders to the kind of ground surfaces.

 
What as to be avoid...
 
Direct exposure to the sun or the moon's ray presents a risk of fading.

Proximity to fire, to heater or to worm or not humid enough atmosphere leads to irreversible dryness of raw material (wood, straw, cane).

Too much humidity can make straw moister, turn to white the varnish covering wood and warped the cane.
